Outside of work, I'm focused on reducing comprehension and verification debt: making sure we software engineers understand the code we ship, and can prove it does what we think it does. I find this to be incredibly important in an increasingly AI world.

    The invisible debt

    I sat in a meeting about a system my own team built, and I couldn't answer the simple questions. Neither could most of the room. So how does a team work this hard and still not understand its own code?
